Prestige Medical Imaging Partners with VuCOMP, Inc.
Offering New Technologies for the Early Detection of Breast Cancer
NEWBURGH, NY – November 7, 2014 – Prestige Medical Imaging (PMI) and New York Imaging Service are pleased to announce today a partnership with VuCOMP, Inc., a leading developer of advanced computer vision systems for the detection of breast cancer. VuCOMP has developed and commercialized two breast imaging products, M-Vu® CAD and M-Vu Breast Density. M-Vu CAD analyzes mammograms to mark areas consistent with breast cancer using sophisticated mathematical algorithms. M-Vu Breast Density is designed to advance the science of breast density measurement by identifying dense tissue in the breast that could be masking cancer. Both products have been well-received by leading radiologists and are used by clinics around the world. In addition, VuCOMP has a works-in-progress CAD solution for 3D breast tomosynthesis in development.
Bill Haussmann, Chief Executive Officer for Prestige Medical Imaging, commented, “Our customers are requiring more advanced technology in performing diagnostic exams particularly with reading dense breast tissue mammography exams. The addition of VuCOMP’s innovative technology to Prestige Medical Imaging’s portfolio addresses these needs by offering an automated, consistent and efficient assessment tool. This offering expands our portfolio and extends our market reach into Women’s Healthcare.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Prestige Medical Imaging. The partnership is a natural fit, as we are both committed to providing radiologists with leading edge technologies for assessing mammograms. Together, we look forward to offering our innovative solutions to Prestige Medical Imaging’s customer base,” said Barry Burgdorf, Chief Operating Officer, VuCOMP, Inc.
